The Ohana Project

(The links in the paragraph below are pdf pages from A Gilded Sky. They start with 'white space,' so be sure you scroll down to get to the start of the text. They also contain spoilers! They also may be a little disjointed because they pop into a scene in progress and end when the discussion of The Ohana Project is over.)

In A Gilded Sky, Greg Shepherd births the idea for a ministry for orphaned adults. He first talks about it with Beth in chapter 7. In chapter 15 they begin to work on a business plan for it. In chapter 25 when Beth gives the plan to Steve, Greg's dream has been named The Ohana Project. (Ohana means family in Hawaiian.) Luke, Heather and Steve talk with Greg about his plan in chapter 28. In After the Storm, Luke prepares The Ohana Project to be submitted to the IRS for non-profit status. In Always a Sunrise, the ministry has become a reality. It quickly grows beyond what Greg had envisioned it to be.

The books of The Ohana Project Series follow people who are connected with the ministry, sometimes as people in need of families, sometimes as people who want to be involved with the ministry, sometimes as family and friends of the Shepherds.
