Seasons, Chapter 5 |
|
On page 33, Steve is talking to Tim about his false guilt over his father's death. False guilt can occur in any relationship. Are you someone who accepts false guilt, or do you give it to others? How can we determine what guilt really belongs to us and what truly belongs to others? Does false guilt affect your relationship with your spouse? What does the Bible say about guilt? Whose behavior are we responsible for? When others misbehave, what is our responsiblity? What does a person have to do to get rid of guilt? How do you need to change the way you approach guilt so that you have a healthier relationship with your spouse?

Seasons, Chapter 13 |
|
On page 93, then again in chapter 17 beginning on page 116, Steve and Heather talk about their hobbies. They find they have a lot in common. Do you think it's important to have things in common? How important is it? In biblical days, there wasn't much time for hobbies so you won't find much about that in the bible, but consider the first chapter of Ruth and Proverbs 31. What do they tell you about the need to have a great deal in common in any relationship? What do you think is the most important thing to have in common? |

On page 171, Steve and Heather talk about him leaving Hawaii and going back to Chicago to play football. They both realize that they like their lives the way they currently are. How drastically did your life change after you got married? Did you deal well with the changes? Are you still struggling with some of them? Consider the fact that God calls believers his bride in the Bible. Look for passages about denying yourself. Did your life change after you became a believer? Should it have? Should your life have changed more after you were married? What can you do to improve your Christian walk and your marriage? |
