Read pages 81-84, from, "Fifteen minutes later, Pete ..." toward the bottom of page 81 down to the top of page 84, "'I think I’ve said ...'"
Pete was accused of teaching his third grade Sunday school class about sex. After proving that he didn't, he challenges the church to think about whether or not they should teach the children about sex. What do you think about what Pete says? Do you think the church should teach sex, even to third graders? Do you think adults really need to be taught about godly sexuality? Should it be a topic for regular Sunday services?
What does the Bible say about topics that should be taught to Christians by the pastors/church leaders? Is there any topic that is taboo? Explore what the epistles says about marriage and sexual purity. The epistles were originally written with the intent that they would be read aloud when the local churches gathered for fellowship. Does that change your thoughts on what should or shouldn't be taught in church?
If you've never been taught about godly sexuality, how did you learn about it? If you haven't learned about it yet, how can you? What are some of the questions you have? As a group, see if you can find answers in the Bible for those questions.
