A Novel Approach to Dating - A Gilded Sky, Chapter 15
Warning: The question contains spoilers. If you haven't already read the book, you may not want to read the questions.
Read pages 103-105, from midway down, "Greg looked at her ..." through one-third of the way down page 105, "He smoothly rose to ...."
Beth and Greg aren't "technically" dating, they're just study partners, but they certainly are becoming intimate. Why is it dangerous for Greg to go to Beth's house. What feelings are being stirred in this scene? What would be better choices for Greg and Beth to make in this scene?
One of the best examples in the Bible of a godly man falling into temptation is the story of David and Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11 to 12. The story is much deeper than most contemporary Christians think. Read some commentaries to get an understanding of what the author told his original readers. What lessons can you learn about God? About David? Filter it through the New Covenant. What are the timeless truths in this story? What life lessons can you find in it for today's Christians?
Are you being wise in the way you deal with potentially tempting situations? (Don't just think about dating relationships. Do you shop too much? Drink more than you should?) What healthy boundaries do you need to put in place? How can your friends best help you to change?
