A Novel Approach to Divorce Recovery - Seasons of Change, Chapter 34

Warning: The question contains spoilers. If you haven't already read the book, you may not want to read the questions.

Read page 235-236, from the middle, "When the message started ...," two-thirds of the way down page 236, "Jenni looked down at ...'"

Jenni's pastor preached about being thankful "in" and "for" things. Do you understand what he's saying? Have you ever thought about the disciples that first Good Friday, dispairing because Jesus was crucified? How wrong were they in their dispair?

Look up Romans 8:28, the passage the pastor quotes. Read it in context to get a good feel for what spiritual truth Paul is trying to teach. Use cross-references to find similar passages.

What does the bible show you about trusting in God and being thankful? Have you learned to trust him and be thankful in all things? What are sometimes that you haven't trusted God, haven't been thankful? How would things have been different if you had decided to be thankful in spite of the circumstances? What good things have happened in your life that have come out of difficult times?

In this difficult season of your life, how can you begin to practice being thankful to God in all things? How can you and your friends help each other?
