A Novel Approach to Divorce Recovery - Seasons of Change, Chapter 7

Warning: The question contains spoilers. If you haven't already read the book, you may not want to read the questions.

Read page 52, from the top, "'I remember that I ...'" down just past the middle of the page, "'It's waxed and waned ...'"

Can you understand Steve's feelings? Did you ever have similar feelings in your marriage? Were you more focused on changing your circumstances and your spouse rather than being changed yourself?

Find bible passages that talk about God being our shelter and giving us peace. Do they help you understand what Steve was talking about?

With a partner, talk about some of the bad times in your marriage. With what you now know, can you see how God was there? Can you see how he helped sustain you? How has he been there for you as you began your recovery from divorce?

What are specific steps you can take to begin to act on your current understanding? How can your friends best help you keep your focus on God instead of on your pain?
