A Novel Approach to Dating - Seasons of Change, Chapter 39
Warning: The question contains spoilers. If you haven't already read the book, you may not want to read the questions.
Read page 274, from just below the middle of the page, "'Steve's just fine, Heather,' ..." down through "'So do I, Heather.' ..."
The colonel and Heather are watching the football game from the hotel suite in Washington D.C. Heather is obviously worried about Steve. What do you think is the motivation behind her worries? She also asks about the outcome of the game, does God care about it? Why do you think she wonders that?
The Apostle Paul talked about running the race to win. Find the passage and explore it's context. What is the spiritual lesson he's teaching in his race analogy? The Bible also talks about God being the one who brings in results. See if you can find some of those passages. What do they tell us about trusting him to "be God"? You might also want to look up some passages about worrying.
Do you worry too much about how things are going to work out? Do you let God be God? How do your worries change your relationships? Have they ever changed them for good? Have you ever lost a friendship because you worried too much and therefore tried to change your friend? Even if you don't obviously worry, do you try to take control of situations, make them go the way you think they should? That is also a form of worry. How can your friends help you learn to trust God? How can you help your friends let go of worry?
