Do you think God picks spouses for us? Can someone marry without it being God's obvious choice for them? What if we reject one who seems to be God's choice for us?
Greg is quickly convinced that Heather and Steve should be together but Heather holds out. Do you think she should consider her brother's opinion? Why or why not?
Use a concordance to help you explore what the Bible says about advisors. What about spouses? (You'll find a lot more about wives than about husbands, especially in Proverbs, but most of that advice can apply to either husbands or wives.) Does any of that help you understand the above questions any better?
What guidelines for dating can you come up with based on your study? Do you follow them already? Would you be willing to give up a relationship that didn't fit those guidelines? Would you be willing to risk one that did, even if you were afraid? What should be your deciding factor?
